Building a CDP Leader in a Crowded Space

The Objective

Simon Data came to the Escalate team at the end of 2020, intending to grow the organization’s general brand awareness across the extremely crowded marketing tech landscape. As a Customer Data Platform (CDP), Simon Data is the center of how marketers want their current and future marketing campaigns to run. Still, the prominent market players and some up-and-comers drowned out the company’s message. Simon Data needed to find a way to get on the radar of marketing technology decision-makers and draw more eyeballs to their properties where they could show off their unique approach and extraordinary successes.

The Strategy

Escalate and Simon Data formally partnered at the start of 2021 and immediately worked on creating a number of high-level narratives that addressed some of the more pressing topics in their client conversations and requests. We wanted to ensure that we were bringing timely and exciting thoughts and approaches to the market that addressed real problems facing marketing leaders. Additionally, we began working with Simon’s founder and CEO to introduce him to media members and industry influencers with pre-built communities focused on the Martech space. These introductions would ultimately lead to collaborative opportunities for both sides and positioned Simon and Jason Davis as a go-to resource on macro topics across Martech.

The Results

In 12 months, the team at Escalate was able to help Simon Data improve its Share of Voice (SoV) from 4% at the end of 2020 to 27% at the end of 2021. Additionally, the increased awareness and programs introduced in 2021 grew Simon Data’s overall website traffic by 33% and average daily visitors by 34%. Jason Davis appeared in Destination CRM, Forbes, MarTech, AdExchanger and CIO Magazine.
