In a new RCR Wireless News feature, Major outlines how the company is aggressively expanding its fiber network to support hyperscalers, AI workloads, and edge deployments across the U.S.
With its recent acquisition of Metro Fiber Networks (MFN), FiberLight is unlocking immediate access to Northern Virginia – one of the most strategic data center markets in the world. Major also discussed how demand is shaping new routes in Texas, where FiberLight just completed a 500-mile build to support an edge data center deployment in partnership with Region 16 Education Service Center in the Texas Panhandle – part of the company’s push to deliver low-latency fiber where it’s needed most.
And while traditional tech corridors face growing constraints around land and power, Texas is emerging as a prime destination for AI data center growth. FiberLight is leaning into that momentum, relocating its headquarters from Atlanta to Plano and expanding its footprint across the state.
As Major puts it, FiberLight may be a “25-year-old startup,” but it’s fast becoming a national leader for fiber consolidation and AI infrastructure.
