As part of the election news cycle, Fierce Network sought to determine how the outcome would affect the fiber industry? Bill Major, CEO of FiberLight, offered a perspective that it wouldn’t matter who prevailed as both the Republican and Democratic platforms have been “favorable” to broadband consolidation.
Typically, the fiber industry experiences a slowdown every four years around election time. This year is no exception, but what is different is the scale of consolidation activities and the support of the BEAD program. In his recent insights with Fierce Network, Major reiterates his outlook on continued consolidation within fiber broadband.
Acquisitions haven’t slowed down in the current administration or the previous,” Major noted. “At the end of the day, the consolidation is going to continue regardless of who’s elected.”
FiberLight itself is currently working on a new acquisition, which it plans to announce next year—a unique 100% fiber asset that will strengthen its market position.
